No computer should be without Anti Virus Protection

Everyone who owns a computer has, at one time or another had to deal with some sort of virus, whether it was a worm, trojan, or one of the other many types that are out there. Which is why having an Anti Virus Protection program installed on your computer is so important.

The first one is to scan files specifically looking for viruses that match the names in their virus dictionary. Viruses that have been identified by the antivirus software authors are put into what is called a virus dictionary. When the antivirus program looks at a file, if any code matches one that is in the dictionary, one of three actions will be prompted.

• The program may try to repair the file by removing the virus.
• The program might quarantine the infected file so that it won't be accessible to other programs and the virus can't continue to spread.
• The program will delete the file completely.

If the virus protection software suspects a program on your computer of suspicious behavior, the program will be flagged and the program will ask the user what to do. The suspicious behavior approach provides computer owners with some sense of protection against new viruses that have not yet made it into the virus dictionary.
