A FrontPage Website can still be adjusted with previous versions of the software

In December of 2006, Microsoft released new web building software called Expression Web, this was to replace FrontPage. However, FrontPage Website are still everywhere on the internet and can still be made using older versions of the software.

For nine years Microsoft FrontPage was an award winning web building tool. With the diversity of users that relied on FrontPage it was Microsoft's job to keep these existing FrontPage users happy. They introduced two new products, a web building tool and an application building tool.

Expression Web was made to replace FrontPage, geared for the professional web designer and Office SharePoint Designer 2007 for enterprise information workers. For previous FrontPage website designers if you use SharePoint technology then you would use SharePoint Designer, if you don't use SharePoint then Expression Web would be the program for you. Either way, you will still get the compelling websites that was possible with FrontPage.

For those who are dedicated FrontPage users there are many hosting companies that will still support web sites that have been made with FrontPage.

FrontPage 2003, the last version published by Microsoft saw the introduction of CSS, cascading style sheets, which are powerful tools that enable you to manage the look and feel of your website. Another feature that came with FrontPage 2003 was the ability to add dynamic elements to your website. Things like applets, plug-ins and controls.
